Week 1 EOC best and worst

When it comes down to the having the right job and not having the best job is a thing in the past for some and a thing of the present for most. I would like to say that I remembered the job that I loved the most or the best, but I would like to just go with the job right now. I am currently at Lucky Brand as an Assistant Store Manager and I would like to say that I like that job that I am doing. With being in the fashion industry. I think that the worst job that I had was working for Victoria's Secret. The reason why this was the worst job, was because I was not able to really understand the market of the consumer of the undergarment area. I was a man working in the women's world trying to figure out the way visual merchandising world has been in the past classes. “But before I came here, I spent five years working for a much smaller property that didn't have a human resources department. Each manager had to do whatever the General Manager wanted. Some of the GMs wanted a lot—and others wanted only a little—responsibility for the human resources function.”(pg. 14)when working in the retail industry there be days you wonder why you have chosen this job for yourself. There be days that you over the moon about your jobs that you wish that experience can help every single day. Yet there days you be sitting in the back room crying your eyes till water won’t come out anymore. Those are days each single retailer feel about their jobs 365 days a year. The staff members of every hospitality and tourism organization are its most important resource. How their work is managed (facilitated) directly impacts the success or failure of the organization.( Hayes, David K. Human Resources Management in the Hospitality Industry, 1st Edition. Wiley, 02/2008. VitalSource Bookshelf Online.)Page 17

While I was in the job in the area of work that I didn't like, it was very different and something that I was not used to doing at all. I decided to give the job the best that I could do and leave it at that till something new came along. It was one day, that I decided to go to Starbucks with one of my associates that I found a person that I just gave small talk too and they wanted to recruit me for a job.(Page 18) It took a long time for me to understand that the person really wanted me to work for them. It was almost three months later that I finally went in to talk to her to find out what it was that she was talking about. I ended up getting the job and it has changed my life for the best the whole way down the road.
